Our Giant end of
the season Closing Sale starts Friday, August 15th at 8 am.
Every thing in the whole nursery is marked down at least 10%. to 50% Even Brunfelsia, Breynia and some of the plants that we never mark down. The sale stays on until we close the gates at the end of Labor Day, September 1st. Labor Day is early this year, but there it is. I take off on a little trip to the Sierra's on Wednesday morning.
If everything goes well on reloading Windows xp on my recently fixed computer I will have more information. Your email will arrive Thursday sometime. I was going to make it a very short one with links to here, but now it will be longer. Oh well!

Zeola 100 plus years and still going strong.
Growing Begonias...perhaps a secret to growing older with health and
happiness?
This is Zeola and she is 100 + years old. Life long lover and grower of
begonias. She still walks on her own, without a walker, has all of her mental
abilities still in place, is good natured and still hears well too. As Mary and
Zeola's daughter were taking their plants up the hill to the car a branch fell
off.
Quick as a wink Zeola spoke up,"That would make a good cutting, may I have
it?"
Here she is holding one of her favorite begonias.

Our club/group
meeting area is up and ready for your group.
To find out how your group can take advantage of this area and how to book your
group for either a walk around tour or a special demonstration click on
club meeting
page. Of course we are always happy to have any group come and
just visit without any extra help. Our plants just love to be admired.
We've added a section of house plants in this area. Nothing larger than can
fit into a SUV or van.
It's been warm and cold. Some of the early spring color is just coming along.
As usual there will be more plants in bloom each week as we go from March 1st
on into full spring.
Our redo make-over over a section of our stream bed is now finished and everyone loves it. We are really pleased and hope that you will enjoy the running streams and waterfall too.
Our plants just love to be admired. We love helping you become a Good
Gardener.
You love our little sign that says,"Don't be afraid to ask dumb
questions" That says it all!

Speaking of Traveling.... I had a nice email from New Zealand
folks with a link to lists of gardens to see in New Zealand. They have now
grown to 40 gardens and are continuing to grow. Many garden owners now operate
B&Bs/farm stays/home stays/cottage accommodation/historic
buildings/museums'/weddings/photos/cafes/functions both personal and
corprate/home cooking/plant and other sales/fishing/animals and bird
life/picnics and garden tours. All of us flower lovers appreciate having that
kind of information when we travel so here is the link

When you call and don't get an answer or get a message, here's why.
Sometimes we are where we don't hear the phone, sometimes two of the three
lines are busy and the phone rolls to the third line. Can't put an answering
machine message on that line and we keep resisting one of those annoying
"your call is important to us" set ups. Even if you don't get an
answer keep trying the 760 436 2194 number and you'll get us eventually.
Quick driving instructions... Interstate 5 between Leucadia and La Costa
exits---We are on the corner of Piraeus and Normandy.[ 695 Normandy] on
the east side of the
freeway. Piraeus is the name of the frontage road. It only
goes between those two exits. Map

Be sure to check and see that we are on your 'not junk' or accept list. Check your "in box" and your Junk box to make sure you get our mail. Lots of mailings come back as 'over quota. Print out and delete all those good jokes and bring them in to me.
