Saturday, May 19 Join us in a celebration of your garden's beneficial insects! A great event for kids, families and adults alike, we'll have beneficial insects for sale, as well as some of their favorite plants. Featured Activities Free mini cup of ladybugs for every kid to bring home! Many of our host plants for sale have lots of eggs and caterpillars already on them, so you can enjoy your butterfly garden right away! Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardening Class at 10:00 am Everything you want to know about attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, we have the plants you need right here at Weidner's. Dr. Jim Bethke will have his collection of live and preserved insects for a neat show and tell. Carol Graham presenting 'The Bugs in Your Garden: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" Karina will have a fun arts and crafts table with lots of fun activities, like making painted ladybug rocks for the garden.
Saturday, April 30th Spring is here and it’s time to celebrate! Come to the nursery and bask in the wonderful bright colors. For our open house, we will be holding free greenhouse and growing ground tours just like we do during the holiday season, only this time you'll get to see all of our beautiful color pots and baskets. Tours will be held at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm on Saturday.

Come learn everything you need to know about growing fruit trees at our annual Fruit Tree Day this month. Not only will we have fruit tree experts available to answer your questions, but you can get a head start on ordering your fruit trees for next season! Fruit tree expert Tyler Trimbel will be at Weidner's at 10:00 am to give a talk on growing fruit trees in our Southern California climate. Tyler is a wealth of information and will give you all the best tips to ensure fruit tree success in your southern California garden. Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 am Join Mia McCarville as she teaches you how to create a backyard habitat for beneficial birds and insects. These lovely critters are a pleasure to watch, plus can help with everything from natural pest control to pollination. Class is free to attend and no reservations are required. Karina will have a fun craft table until 4:00 pm for the kids plus face painting from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm! Jim Bethky will show off his incredible collection of creepy crawlers and each kid gets a mini cup of ladybugs to take home.

Join us for a fun-filled class that will leave you confident and ready to start your own spring garden. November 18 & 19 It's that time of year already! Our poinsettia greenhouse tours are one of Weidners most popular events of the year! Come get a behind the scenes look at how we grow our varieties of lovely poinsettias for the holidays. The tours this year will be held November 18 and 19, and are free of charge as always.
